HERE'S
WHAT YOU WILL NEED IN YOUR OFFICE TO FILE ELECTRONICALLY
Pentium
PC running Windows (no earlier than Windows 95) or Macintosh.
The more
memory you have and the faster the processor chip, the quicker your
documents can be processed, such as when you are converting to PDF format.
An Internet
service provider (ISP) and a communications line between your office and
your ISP.
The faster
the connection speed between your computer and your ISP, the less you
will need to wait for your filings to upload. No matter how fast your
PC is, the speed of your interactions with the Internet are almost completely
governed by the speed of your communications line from your PC to your
ISP.
An Internet
"browser" software program.
Currently,
you must use the Netscape Navigator version 4.6 or 4.7 or Internet Explorer
5.5 browser software to access CM/ECF. You cannot use America On Line's
version of Netscape Navigator. Click HERE
if you want to download the Netscape Navigator version 4.77 right
now!
Word processing
and/or other document preparation software.
Software
to convert the documents you create to Portable Document Format (PDF).
All documents
must be in PDF format before they can be filed in CM/ECF! The Adobe
Acrobat Writer software package can accomplish this in most cases.
Software
to view documents in Portable Document Format (PDF)
The Adobe
Acrobat Reader (at least version 3.0) works quite nicely and is widely
available as a free download. Click HERE
if you want to download the Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 right now!
