Course Objective

This class is an instructor-led 4 hour course designed for attorneys who represent creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.  This course provides attorneys hands-on experience using CM/ECF. Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

• Access the ECF system using an Internet Browser (recommended: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox)
• Navigate through the ECF System menus
• File a Proof of Claim
• Docket pleadings
• Open an Adversary Proceeding
• Pay filing fees online through the Pay.gov system
• Research the electronic docket to obtain case information using various reports in CM/ECF

Attorneys who complete this course will receive 3.75 hours of CLE credit.   Staff who attend on behalf of an attorney and successfully complete the course can receive a Certificate of Completion upon request.

Class Materials

Please print the documents HERE and bring them to class.  You will need these documents to complete the Connectivity Exercise at the end of class.

Times & Locations

CM/ECF Classroom training will be offered in Dallas, Lubbock and Amarillo.

Dallas classes will be held from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Earle Cabell Federal Building, U.S. Bankruptcy Training Room, Rm. 1264.

Lubbock classes will be held from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the George Mahon Federal Building, 1205 Texas Ave., Rm. 512.

Amarillo classes will be held  from 10 a.m - 1 p.m. at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, 624 S. Polk St.

Class Dates

From the dates listed below, choose a date and location then send your registration request to ecftraining@txnb.uscourts.gov.  Your request MUST contain the following information:

• Name of Participant
• Firm Name
• Email Address
• Class Date

There is a maximum of 10 participants per class.

The court will process your request and send an email confirming your training date and time.  You are not considered confirmed for a training class until you have received notification from the court.
