Second Bench/Bar Conference

Please don't forget to Save the Date for the 2nd Northern District of Texas Bankruptcy Bench/Bar Conference to be held June 13, 2008, at the Dallas Infomart. Registration will open on May 15 with limited seating. The program will open with registration and a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and conclude with a reception at 4:30 p.m. More information on registration and the program will be available in the coming weeks. Plan to attend, exchange ideas with other practitioners, and take advantage of an opportunity to have a conversation with the Northern District of Texas bankruptcy judges. CLE credit will be offered.

Bankruptcy Filings Rebound in Calendar Year 2007

"Bankruptcy filings in the federal courts rose 38 percent in calendar year 2007, according to data released today by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. The number of bankruptcies filed in the twelve-month period ending December 31, 2007, totaled 850,912, up from 617,660 bankruptcies filed in calendar year 2006." Link to article

Clerk's Notice 08-02

The Judicial Conference of the United States has amended the Electronic Public Access (EPA) Fee Schedule. The fee schedule was amended to eliminate any reference to dial-up access, because the current versions of CM/ECF and PACER no longer provide direct dial-up remote access.
